WRT54G V5 on Telstra BigPond Cable

The WRT54G router from Linksys has legendary status for being configurable and reliable. However, the new models start with V5 are making their best efforts to destroy that legend.

Login not working for Telstra BigPond Cable

Even after entering correct details for the BigPond Cable login into the new Version 5s, and it saying connected in status, you still cannot access the net.

A tell-tale sign that it is the router at fault is that if you use your own computer to login using software, the connection will work.

Bassically the version 5 borks the login process.

Firmware Update

It was a long time coming but version 1.0.0.9 of the firmware seems to fix the problem. However Linksys don't recommend it for use in Australia yet and they don't have it on their site.
