Solution
The following solutions also work with XP.
RegEdit
- In the start menu search, type regedit to pull up the registry editor.
- Find in the tree HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
- Change AutoAdminLogon to 1
- Add/Change the String Value, DefaultUserName to the username you want to login automatically. To add new String Values just right-click New->String Value
- Add/Change the String Value, DefaultPassword to the corresponding password
- Add/Change the String Value, DefaultDomainName to the name of your computer, or if you are logging into a domain, the name of that domain.
